Michael Lebowitz

Posted by Craig on 2 September 2011, 4:05 pm

Before Waldo 100K this year I was approached by a professional photographer who was interested in taking photos at the race.  This has happened about four times in the past ten years and once I describe how few people run the race and how difficult it is to get to the cool locations I either …

There’s A Race Coming Up

Posted by Craig on 17 August 2011, 4:58 pm

The 10th Waldo 100K is three days away.  I had hoped to blog about life as a race director the last few weeks, but never found a time when my mind was not swimming with details and I wasn’t answering emails and phone calls.  Throw in a three day ski patrol convention in Twin Falls, …

Waldo Gets A Facelift

Posted by Craig on 2 April 2011, 1:21 am

After ten years, we’ve finally decided to upgrade the Waldo 100k website.  We were always proud of the content of the old site, but it definitely looked dated … nine years ago! I got to work with some awesome people on this project and Curt (my Co-RD), the race, and the runners are fortunate to …

This is Craig Thornley's ultrarunning blog. It’s a blend of humor, opinion, insight, history, adventure, and sometimes just plain ridiculousness from the perspective of an ultrarunner and race director. You'll find lots of info about Western States 100 so look around. Hopefully the blog will provide some useful information, conduct your juices, or make you laugh.
