2011 WS Predictions Poll

I know WS polling is AJW‘s specialty, but I figured I’d take a stab at one myself, in Conduct The Juices style.  You can vote for at most three of the following 2011 WS predictions until the end of May:

Jeff Riley, AJW, Dan Olmstead in Foresthill on an Ice Cream Sandwich Run.

  2. I won’t speak to the minutae of the contenders—too much arcana and my perspective is date-expired, to put it mildly.

The course will be simultaneously snowier than usual, with deep drifts past Robinson’s, which will lovingly prepare the field for parabolic convection ovens of the canyons. This means that the Happy Runners will be simultaneously sunburnt, chilled from slipping in the snow, and heatstroked again by the time they get to Foresthill.

    • I was hoping mac would answer you since I didn’t give him the answer he wanted. But here goes.

You could just carry one bottle during the race and then you’d have a great excuse why you didn’t do sub-24.

  3. I am for Hal and Meghan. Old folks rule. Although Hal officially doesn’t qualify…Mackey does. OK, I am for Dave, Hal and Meghan. You and AJW will have to figure out who shares cot with whome though.

  4. Another entry:

“Joe Uhan, thorougly rested from his eight-week April-May taper (+ Sierra Nevada fueling), inches his way from Squaw to Auburn, arriving at Placer HS just in time for hotcakes off the griddle….topped with Olive Oil.”

  5. Walking around Squaw Valley several days before States with freshly painted toenails and a lift ticket dangling from his jacket, LB is overheard saying confidently, “There’s still plenty of time for that snow to melt. High pressure ‘sposed to set in tomorrow.” Five days later he gets lost in the fresh powder dropped by one final storm, then rallies 1983-Jim King-style to catch The Jiz at the white bridge, only to be passed by The Queen on the track.
Sunday, at the awards ceremony, he remarks, “You know, if I hadn’t squeezed in that extra 4000’ of vert off the Express Quad on Friday before the medical check I could have held off The Queen’s finishing kick. But at least I gained back 2 of the 600 minutes Jizzle Wizzle has on me in the 10 year bet.”
