What I Like

Training with friends. Photo by LongRun Picture Co

I like training, maybe more than racing.

I like inspiring and motivating.

I like connecting.

I like helping and watching my friends reach their potential.

I like giving, but also the reciprocity that it engenders.

I like setting goals and working hard reaching for them.

I like my wife, she’s a keeper.

I like laughing.

I like creating.

I like progress but not without proper respect to the past.

I like integrity and honesty.

I like leading.

I like competing WITH people not AGAINST them.

What do you like?

      • I’m pretty sure I got the point on this one. That’s what led to adding a little humor to it. Appears that this blog has alot of humor to it so I was just chiming in that way. These are the types of lighthearted fun digs my friends and I like during group runs.Perhaps you don’t know me well enough to understand what I meant, no worries, looks like Craig knew I was joking.

  1. I like knowing stuff and not being totally wrong as in – Competition comes from the latin competere- early latin- come together late latin strive together– key word here is together- together to bring out the best in each other and thereby the whole…

    • Yep, and as Al Oerter said:

“To compete against people is a negative thing. To compete with people is a celebration, a celebration of human capability.”

  2. I like seeing “cool stuff”, I like doing “crazy s__”; preferably with human power.

I LOVE the shared experience of working hard with others to do the cool and crazy s__.

  3. I like breaking so-called age barriers.

I like inspiring and being inspired by youth running.

I LOVE racing. Are we allowed to say what we love????
